Cocoa Beach in the Heat

Bryan and Katelyn returning from a swim in the cool waves.

Brady watching the water.

Despite the 100 + degree heat, we drove over to Cocoa Beach (about a 40 minute drive) on Saturday. Usually, there is a cool breeze at the beach, a nice escape from the heat and humidity. But not on Saturday. The heat was just too much and we fried in the hot sun. The only relief was in the cool water. Bryan took Katelyn in pretty deep and I had Brady at the water's edge, sitting on the cool, wet sand and letting the water roll over our feet and laps. After only 2 hrs., we decided to leave. Brady was one cranky baby!! He has never handled the heat well. So, even though we were only there for a short time, we did have a good time. Katelyn could've stayed all day long!!

House Happenings

Sorry, I can't seem to rearrange the pictures in the order I want!

Look who is FINALLY standing (but not happy about it???)!!!

K inherited her dad's OCD gene....here she is arranging the shoes in pairs that were just kicked off into a pile....

Watching the Jonas Brothers live on the Today Show...she loves Nick Jonas!!

Crawling under the exersaucer.

It's that time of year again in Florida, time to stay inside because it's so stinkin' hot outside!! We do our errands/playdates in the morning, when it's a bit cooler, then we stay inside for lunch and naptime and afternoons. Here's what the kids have been doing to keep busy inside:

K and B have actually been playing pretty well together :-) For the most part, K has been very sweet with Brady, but is really after his toys and car. Any opportunity she can find, she races away with it (but after 2x running over Brady's little fingers, the car has been taken away from her).

Brady's First Head Injury....

I tried to photograph the injury on his forehead, but the flash really washes it out. Poor baby boy!!! He's sucking/chewing on frozen grapes in his mesh feeder...great for the gums!

This is the car he fell off of. He slid off one side and caught the corner of the coffee table.

I know it's bound to happen, but poor Brady fell off his beloved car, head first into the coffee table. I was sitting right next to him and couldn't grab him in time. This has left a swollen, red/purple mark on his forehead. He cried for less than a minute, but I wanted to cry myself for much longer!!! I keep thinking people are going think we're abusing him....but everyone keeps telling me that's life with a little boy and it's only first of MANY bumps and bruises!

Katelyn and the Shoe Obsession

I took Katelyn to see a local production of Beauty and the Beast, the musical, last weekend. K's babysitter played the part of "Chip" (the baby teacup), so we went to support her and the production was VERY impressive! Anyway, while we were watching the show, K spotted a little girl with pink sparkly mary jane shoes and became obsessed with them. At one point, the little girl came to sit next to K and K told her Bryan's mom would buy those same shoes for her. Well, a day or two later, Bryan's mom called and Katelyn was still going on and on about the shoes, so she graciously offered to buy them for her that day. Talk about being over the moon!! Katelyn wore the shoes out of Target and hasn't taken them off since....no matter what she's wearing!!
Thank you Mama Nana for these princess shoes!

Sorry, been M.I.A....

Action shot from our seats at the NBA finals, game 3. Bryan got the tickets through work.

Bryan stands in front of the blue fountain outside the arena before gametime.

Brady's new bathtub...he LOVES bathtime!

We hosted a baby playdate while K was in school, here's Brady with his buddy Brooks and Ella.

Brady and Brooks at our house, playing and having a good time.

K's end of the year performance, I could barely see her from here, she's on the far left, back row.

I love this picture!! Love those baby feet!!

Ugh, I've really been trying to be much better about blogging (one of MANY new year's resolutions), but I dropped the ball these last few weeks. Missing In Action has definitely been the case. We've had some action-packed weeks here in Orlando. Katelyn finished up her last year at mother's morning out (she's been attending for the last 2 years, next year she's on to VPK) and then I enrolled her in a FREE (!) vacation bible school this week (every day 9-12). Rewind to two weeks ago, and sweet Brady got a stomach virus out of nowhere and covered both of us in vomit several times (always a pleasure). Once he recovered, Katelyn ran into our room at 2:40am teling us she's vomitted in her room. So, poor Katelyn was down for the count for 24 hrs. Luckily, she bounced back quickly and Bryan and I were able to attend game 3 of the NBA Finals here in Orlando. It was pretty amazing...the crowd was super-pumped! And the magic won!!
And another reason for the missing in action....like most women, I was totally engrossed with the Twilight series of books. If you haven't read them, I HIGHLY recommend them. There are 4 books and I just couldn't put them down...before bed, naptime, early arrival at school in the parking lot...you name it, I was reading.
So, here are some recent pics of the kids, both doing well. Brady just got his 2 front teeth and is still cruising everywhere, really picking up speed. Still not pulling up on furniture or crib, but he hasn't met a power cord he doesn't love.
Katelyn continues to amaze us with her imagination and she is still talking our ears off!
